The design of the 11th edition of the DDR Museum’s 0-euro souvenir note combines two historical motifs from the GDR: the words »Peace – Unity – Fulfilment of the Plan«

are taken from a poster for the 1952 Konsum representative elections, whilst the flag-bearer is from the 1969 mural »The Path of the Red Flag«

at the Kulturpalast in Dresden.


In keeping with the anniversary of German reunification, the phrase »Unity«

 in particular takes on additional significance from today’s perspective and draws a parallel with the Peaceful Revolution and the reunification on 3 October 1990.


Like its predecessors, the new 0-euro souvenir note is a special collector’s item
